The ceremony was held at the Arvo Pärt Centre in Laulasmaa, which also welcomed guests from on the industry associations who had come to express congratulations to the EAACEC members.

The speeches focused on giving recognition to the association, appreciating its successes and recounting professional victories. Letters of appreciation for the significant contribution to the association’s development were awarded to the long-standing former chairmen of the board Andres Saar, Tõnis Tarbe and Enn Laansoo as well as CEOs Peeter Kokk and Mauno Inkinen.

In his speech, the CEO of the EAACEC Kalle Karron noted that of the enterprises which joined the association 25 years ago, the central core considerable in number remains. “There are many loyal members in the EAACEC, and we value it greatly,” he said.

Jüri Rass, the Deputy Secretary General for Construction, said that the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication is trying to be a worthy partner of the companies. “The state can succeed in creating the appropriate conditions, leading, and inspiring development,” he emphasised.

Joyful congratulations were balanced out by speeches which highlighted the necessity to solve the issue of inspiring young people to study civil engineering professions. “Design companies feel that the question of succession is becoming more and more pressing,” the vice-chairman of the EAACEC board, Keijo Vaher, pointed out.

“The training of civil engineers is the responsibility of the entire construction sector, and the involvement of industry associations in councils and other forms of cooperation requires continuous contribution,” professor Jarek Kurnitski from Tallinn University of Technology also emphasised.

The ceremony was concluded by Johann Randvere’s piano concert followed by festive networking and a tour of the building.
